Message The tubes have to be machined to a tight tolerance to allow the bearings to be press fit. The bushings are also machined to a tight tolerance to be press fit into the bearing. This gives us a product that not only fits, but is very precise.

The turn buckle piece has to be machined due to the left hand thread of one end. This is what allows adjustment by just turning the middle piece one way or the other.

The threaded rod used is an extra fine thread and is very hard to find in a left hand thread. The extra fine thread is needed to allow the most adjustability.

A little backround info:

I've been designing parts/machines for ten years. The other engineer I'm working with on this project has 20+ years of design including many years at GM. We have plenty of experience so we know what we are talking about.

If you think you can make a product that is better and cheaper, by all means give it a shot. There is a reason why existing products are so expensive and that no one else has really tried to make something more economical. It takes a lot of time and effort.
